Just finished this poem for my dear friend Steve Leckie.
We were in love when we were young and stayed friends all our lives.
Rest in Power.

The name’s Leckie
At the end of the day
The moon applauds
The stars drink a toast to you
My first wild love
We packed up your suffering
Sent it out to sea
Where the ocean sings
Dolphin’s wink
Pain is a pale memory
No more pain
Only dream river blues
All your enchanted songs left behind
You don’t need them anymore
But darling we do
We are the ones that saw into your heart
and loved you just the way you are
You loved us too, the trusted few.
Promise me that when I join you in the yonder wild we will continue our 8 hour conversations over coffee, music and Arthur Rimbaud
No gossip
Just two explorers with the same name
The name’s Leckie my friends and don’t ever forget it.
